Ted Kent, Retired US Naval Commander comments on his daughter's run for commissioner

Founding father Thomas Paine said,“Tyranny, like hell is not easily conquered…. Tis dearness that gives everything value.” I served in WW2. We fought for freedom against fascism and to protect our democratic values. My family has a history of public service. My daughter, Nora Kent, has served Lane County students for 25 years. She’s made a real difference.

Once again, dark times have come. Democracy in Lane County is under attack. Citizen initiatives are being silenced  by the commissioners and now my daughter is stepping up to fight back. I’m so proud. She’s put herself out there and is running to be your Lane County Commissioner. She’s taking her service to the next level. She’s our light in these dark times.

Vote for my daughter. She will serve us well.

Ted Kent,  Retired US Naval  Commander

Served in World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War
